Who this is for

This is for you if…

  • You're eyeing your first ultra and it scares you.
  • You've signed up for something long, tough, or multi-day.
  • You're not fast — but you're stubborn.
  • You're ready to find out what you're actually capable of.

This isn't for you if…

  • You're chasing podiums.
  • You want a rigid plan that ignores your actual life.
  • You want a coach who'll shout at you on Strava.
  • You think the mental side doesn't matter.
"I help people who don't think they're ultra runners… become ones who finish."
The Core Programme

The First Ultra Project.

Coaching for people taking on their first ultra or multi-stage race — especially if you're not quite sure you're ready. I'll help you get to the start line prepared, and to the finish line strong.

/ 01

Training plan

Time-based, not mileage-bound. Because your life doesn't follow a spreadsheet — and your training shouldn't either.

/ 02

Monthly guidance

Adjusted regularly based on how you're actually coping. Because real training isn't perfect — and neither are real people.

/ 03

Mindset

The part that really matters. Learning how to keep going when it all starts to fall apart.

/ 04

Race prep

Kit. Nutrition. Strategy. The parts of race prep that matter just as much as your training.

The coach

I didn't start as an ultra runner.

I just kept turning up and working it out as I went. That's taken me through multiple 200–250 km multi-stage races — from the Racing the Planet series (Namibia, Gobi, Jordan, Atacama, Antarctica) to events with Global Limits and Beyond the Ultimate — plus shorter ultras and a 100-miler.

Good days, bad days, and plenty where it didn't go to plan.

Now a UESCA-qualified coach, I combine that lived experience with structure that actually works — helping you prepare properly, and keep going when it matters.
